Validation of field in Table Maintainance Generator

Hi All,

     I want to validate a custom table field(ztab - zfield) which is against the data maintained in standard table(e.g. Mara - matnr) while creating or maintaining  entry in table maintenance generator. could you please help me  sample code and in which event I need to go.
