I have looked through various discussions and I haven't seen an answer to this question. I understand the use and need for both append structures as well as customer includes.
We have been using customer includes to help with the end user requests by adding information to these related to the table that stores the information.
- Are there hard and fast guidlines or rules on how large database tables are allowed to get?
- How wide and how many fields we can have in a table?
- Are there guidelines about how large the customer includes are allowed to get without affecting performance?
The reason I am asking is to get information because we (the developers) have been asked to store any addtional information we would normally put in the customer include in a customer include in a separate table and enhance the application to store the information in custom ztables.
I want to reduce the number of customizations we are making along with the increased z tables.
